About LEGO Town Postal

The LEGO Town / Postal theme, active from 1982 to 1998, highlighted mail and delivery services within a LEGO city. Key sets include 6362 Post Office, which served as the central hub for postal operations, and 6689 Post-Station, a smaller facility for local mail handling. The 6651 Mail Truck was essential for transporting letters and packages around the town.
1982 LEGO Sets
1982 focused on incremental depth: Expert Builder (the forerunner to Technic) pushed functional mechanisms with gears, axles, and linkages, while Space and Town delivered steady waves of bases, vehicles, and civic builds. The 12V Train ecosystem continued to mature with expanded track components and control options.
