LEGO Gear / Key Chains / Star Wars

Star Wars key chains are LEGO minifigures fixed to a key ring by a short chain through the head, and they go back to the 1999 Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, the first year of LEGO Star Wars. Darth Vader, the stormtroopers, Yoda, R2-D2 and C-3PO have been made over and over, often with small changes to the printing, while other characters follow whatever was new at the time.

The Clone Wars cartoon brought Ahsoka, Captain Rex and Cad Bane, and the later films and series brought Rey, Finn, Jyn Erso, the Mandalorian and Grogu. A key chain was sometimes the first or only way to get a character in minifigure form.

Not all of them are figures. Small brick-built bag charms of ships like the Millennium Falcon came in 2007, there are metal key chains of Han Solo in carbonite and the Mandalorian's beskar, and a Luke Skywalker key light from 2025 doubles as a torch.
