2007 / Racers

In 2007 LEGO released 21 Racers sets across 3 subthemes. The largest Racers set from 2007 was 8145 Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano 1:10 with a piece count of 1327 and a retail price of $109.99. The current estimated value of all these Racers sets from this year is about $2,694.81 which represents a 464.8% growth.

The LEGO Racers theme which was introduced in 2001 was the successor of LEGO Race. Since the theme started, most race cars in LEGO System and TECHNIC universe have been released under the LEGO Racers theme. Racers was discontinued in 2012 and it was succeeded by Speed Champions, introduced in 2015.

2007 LEGO Sets

For collectors, 2007 proved to be an important milestone for with the release of the Modular Buildings theme which initially included Café Corner (10182-1) and Market Street (10190-1). Also, the Star Wars license with LucasFilms was originally planned to end that year, but is renewed. To celebrate Star Wars' 30th anniversary, LEGO released a free, 14-carat gold C-3PO minifigure. 2007 also saw the discontinuation of a number of themes including Aqua Raiders and Knights' Kingdom II but also so the introduction of the Thomas and Friends theme.
