LEGO 2007 Sets

In 2007 LEGO proved once again to be a supurb year for collectors with the release of 258 sets, many highly sought after. This included 28 promotional and special released sets in addition to the 230 retail sets released through LEGO.com, the LEGO store and various other retail channels.

Based on the 258 sets released for that year, the retail value was $9,705.81 with a current value of $65,174.70 for the combined new/factory sealed sets. As of present, the best performing theme for 2007 is currently Harry Potter which has seen an average annual growth of upwards of 14% to date. With the 34 sets that year, the Duplo theme had the most released sets.

For collectors, 2007 proved to be an important milestone for with the release of the Modular Buildings theme which initially included Café Corner (10182-1) and Market Street (10190-1). Also, the Star Wars license with LucasFilms was originally planned to end that year, but is renewed. To celebrate Star Wars' 30th anniversary, LEGO released a free, 14-carat gold C-3PO minifigure. 2007 also saw the discontinuation of a number of themes including Aqua Raiders and Knights' Kingdom II but also so the introduction of the Thomas and Friends theme.
