In 2019 LEGO released 6 Powered Up sets. The largest Powered Up set from 2019 was
88011 Train Motor with a piece count of 7 and a retail price of $13.99.
Powered Up is LEGO's replacement for the long running Power Functions elements and has improved it in many ways including improved range and Bluetooth and a tech platform that works across most new LEGO smart components. Powered Up provides elements such as smart motors, power hubs, color and distance sensors, LED lights and more. The LEGO Powered Up platform lets you remote-control your creations via Bluetooth and code them into action with the Powered Up mobile app.
2019 LEGO Sets
There were a number of events in 2019 that helped shaped the investment market for LEGO. Probably the most important event is that LEGO Star Wars celebrated its 20th anniversary. In addition, LEGO released new themes such as Hidden Side, Overwatch and a set based on the Netflix series Stranger Things. Sadly the Nexo Knights and Elves themes were discontinued in 2019.
