About Boost

LEGO BOOST is a robotics LEGO set aimed at younger children. Within the BOOST box there are five different models including Vernie the Robot, Frankie the Cat, Autobuilder, Guitar4000 and M.T.R.4. Programming the device occurs in a block-based programming system that is touch-based, and each model has different programming blocks relevant to their capabilities. Progressively higher-level programming areas are unlocked as the easier ones are completed. While BOOST has mainly an entertaining goal it also an educational goal, which allows the child to learn the basics of computer programming. The basic robot which can be built in a few hours can roll in all possible directions, throw projectiles, dance, talk through a voice recording system. The various programs are available via a tablet app and to unlock new levels and bricks the child must perform various activities.
