“The Crystal Crawler makes a yellow and black Aquazone vehicle, and has two big wheels and four tilting propeller arms, plus two movable arms. Presumably, it should crawl slowly along the ocean floor. Luckily (?) an ocean floor is provided, but it has absolutely no studs. The... More Alternate models are some sort of undersea robot, a vehicle that looks like a cross between a scorpion and a dragster, and a small submarine.”
 

About Aquazone Aquanauts

Aquanauts was the first subtheme in the Aquazone theme from 1995 to 1996. The story consisted of the Aquanaut miners, a group of miners based at the Neptune Discovery Lab, fighting against the villainous Aquasharks and their leader Thresher for control of the crystal mines. The first generation of sets consisted of a yellow base color to the subs which gave the Aquanauts a more realistic appearance to real submarines.

Aquanauts consists of 8 sets that ran from 1995 to 1996. As of today, 6195 Neptune Discovery Lab is the most valuable Aquanauts set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $559.

Built for maneuverability and versatility, the Crystal Crawler is the latest addition to the aquanauts line of deep sea submarines. Its variable pitch propellers allows it to perform maneuvers a normal fixed propeller submarine could not. In addition to normal submarine operations, the Crystal Crawler is able to "walk" on the seabed using its four propeller arms. Two large ballast wheels mounted at the front and back of the vessel ensures stability of the craft. The wheels can also be use to "steam-roll" across the seabed.
