“This 879-piece model celebrates some of the most iconic scientists, and includes minifigures of Marie Sklodowska-Curie, George Washington Carver and Sir Isaac Newton to complete the display, which depicts a model of a carbon atom, rotating DNA strand and other scientific... More achievements such as a satellite, space shuttle and even a micro city.”

Brick Fanatics
“The LEGO Ideas team always change some parts of the fan-designed projects before they are released as finished official sets, and that trend continues with 21355 The Evolution of STEM, which has received some major changes, almost entirely consisting of massive upgrades to... More Danielbradleyy’s winning submission. STEM – Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics – remains at the heart of the model, which makes sense given that this was the exact brief for the challenge that Daniel Bradley won.”

About Ideas

The LEGO Ideas theme, which started in 2008 as an offshoot of the Japanese website Cuusoo, then formally known as LEGO Cuusoo, is based around a website which allows users to submit ideas for LEGO products to be turned into potential sets available commercially. If fellow users in the LEGO Ideas community up vote the project to 10000 then LEGO Group has a committee which votes on whether to build the set and release it. If the project is approved and cleared for production, it is developed and later released as an official set under the "LEGO Ideas" banner and the original designer receives 1% of the royalties and a number of free sets. Typically, a few projects are approved a year and most are rejected due to various restrictions.
