Starting in 2008, LEGO Ideas (formerly known as LEGO Cuusoo) allows fans to submit ideas for products to be turned into potential sets available commercially, with the original designer receiving 1% of the royalties. The ideas theme has produced dozens of sets so far, with about half a dozen new sets released each year.
