“The set contains 456 pieces, and of those 456 pieces, there is a whole line worth of track, three train wagons, and five minifigures. You might recognize the train wagons in this set, they are from the “My own Train” locomotive kits, the ones in this set are the Large... More Locomotive, Tender, and Passenger wagon.”

“The blue passenger coach features brown seats and a stove, and the engine is powered by a traditional 9V motor with an impressive amount of track. Despite wishing for an additional train car and more platform details, this set is fantastic.”

About Trains 9V

The 9 V system ran from 1991 to 2006 and is still a favourite with LEGO train fans. The rails have metal tops that carry the current from a speed regulator to a motor under the locomotive, so trains could run without batteries for as long as they stayed on the track. It started with 4558 Metroliner in 1991.

9V consists of 67 sets that ran from 1991 to 2006. As of today, 4558 Metroliner is the most valuable 9V set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $1,989.
