Insights

Released in 1998 and long retired, Desert Expedition 5948 pairs a distinctive biplane–tomb build with named Adventurers Egypt characters, and nostalgia for the 1990s theme has supported durable demand and scarce sealed examples, while small-set scale and condition sensitivity can increase volatility.

Set Facts

It was also released as 2879 which include a storage container, shaped as a Mummy.
The bi-plane is similar to the one in 7307 Flying Mummy Attack.

BrickEconomy Member Review

“LEGO set 5948 Desert Expedition from 1998 is a fantastic addition to the Adventurers series, offering a rich play experience with 196 pieces, including two vehicles, a campsite, and four minifigures. The detailed plane, complete with working cargo drop and engine panels, steals the show, while the villain buggy and ornate sarcophagus add great depth to the set.”
