Steve's LEGO Blog
“I love the old style Dragon fig and this set made the Black one very accessible (you even get a flame element to show him breathing fire). Aside from that you also get a cape, shiny sword, a bat and another Bat Lord. It’s more a minifigs pack than a set but if you like those... More figs you can’t go wrong.”

Lego Maniacs' Guide
“With only 15 pieces, this is a very small set with a couple large pieces. The black dragon occupies more than half of the front of the box...and is reason enough to buy this set. The black dragon looks great! Black seems so much more threatening than the green ones.... More Unfortunately the dragon has orange wings, but by swapping the orange wings with the black ones from Witch's Windship, the dragon looks even better.”

About Castle Fright Knights

Fright Knights was a Castle line of 1997 and 1998, part of the move of Castle from history into fantasy. Basil the Bat Lord leads the knights, under a black and red flag with a bat crest, along with Willa the Witch and her crystal ball. The sets brought new parts with them, among them bats, chains, a crystal ball and Basil's winged helmet. 6037 Witch's Windship and 6087 Witch's Magic Manor gave the witch a ride and a home of her own.

Fright Knights consists of 17 sets that ran from 1997 to 1998. As of today, 6097 Night Lord's Castle is the most valuable Fright Knights set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $850.
Summary
Castle Fright Knights Bat Lord set 6007 was released in February 1997, retailing for $4, but has since been retired. New, unopened Bat Lord sets are valued at $114, while used sets can be found for $40.
