LEGO 6542 Launch & Load Seaport is a Town/Boats set released in 1991, containing 1080 pieces and 7 minifigures. The build depicts a seaport with a fixed wharf on five raised baseplates, a container crane, a guard shack with a barrier, a cargo ship named ATLANTIC, a pilot boat marked Y19, a forklift, a semitrailer truck, and five cargo containers. Also known as Europort Container Base, it was the largest set in the Town Boats subtheme at the time. It was one of two major seaports in this line, alongside 6541 Intercoastal Seaport.

“In my humble opinion this is one of the best sets of Lego released in 90s. A set of 6542, however, is much larger than the port with yellow crane and is much more functional. Crane with a gantry operates simplier and seamlessly. Besides the long port and crane couple of more... More things can be found in the set: the big red container ship, pilot's boat, forklift, truck with trailer, five containers and guard's booth, who guards it all behind the openable gate. The set consists of 1080 bricks and at the same time it is the largest set in Town theme.”

“It remains a mystery what drove the LEGO Group to so oddly break from pattern and release such a monumental set, but those pieces did not go to waste. Part of the sadly short lived, and not since rebooted Nautica line, 6542 is a masterpiece. A brick built cargo ship,... More realistic crane, enough cargo to fill the ship and a gargantuan footprint are just some of this set’s fantastic qualities. I have two of them in my permanent Town/CITY display and cannot recommend it highly enough.”
