LEGO 6781 SP-Striker is a Space Police/Space Police I set released in 1989, containing 230 pieces and 2 minifigures. The set builds a police spacecraft with a detachable prison cell and includes a Space Police officer and a Blacktron astronaut prisoner. It features a 9-volt light-and-sound system with a rotatable light brick that can illuminate both lights or operate in strobe mode, plus a computer monitor lit by a dedicated light brick. The model was marketed as “Space Police Prisoner Transport” in European and UK catalogs, and the box shows several alternate builds.

About Space

Space Police was a LEGO Space subtheme released in 1989 that consisted of 6 sets and was the first of three Space Police subthemes. The storly line was based on the Space Police, a group of brave individuals that kept order between the Blacktron faction (the bad guys) and the civilian Futuron faction.

Space Police was introduced in 1989 and currently consists of 6 sets. As of today, 6986 Mission Commander is the most valuable Space Police set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $2,625.

The Space Police was formed after raids by Blacktron invaders on M-Tron and other space assets increased in frequency. An elite contingent of crime fighters was then trained to police the largely uncharted and uncontrolled depths of space. Since the Blacktron invaders is the galaxy's most wanted criminals, no resources was spared in equipping this force with the latest hardware. Most if not all of the Space Police spacecraft are equipped with an experimental propulsion system. This propulsion system leaves no engine or heat signature unlike normal rocket or plasma propulsion system, making it ideal for ambushing the Blacktron invaders.

The SP-Striker is one such spacecraft. It is also among the fastest in the Space Police fleet. Those lucky enough to commandeer such a vessel are either very good or very lucky.
