LEGO 700-3-2 Gift Package is a LEGO Mursten basic set released in 1956, featuring an assortment of early Mursten bricks for open-ended construction. The set did not include minifigures, as these were not yet introduced in the LEGO product line. Produced in cellulose acetate plastic, the components used the pre-1958 hollow-stud design and were packaged as a general-purpose starter assortment. According to the 1956 Danish catalog, the set was priced at 18.50 Danish kroner and sold primarily in Denmark during the mid-1950s. About Mursten Basic Set

LEGO Mursten, produced between 1949 and 1953, were the first plastic building blocks by the LEGO Group. These early sets, known as LEGO Basic Sets, included simple, hollow rectangular bricks without the modern stud-and-tube locking mechanism. Sold primarily in Denmark and a few European countries, these sets laid the groundwork for the modern LEGO system. In 1953, the Mursten evolved into "Automatic Binding Bricks," featuring an improved design that eventually led to the patented stud-and-tube system in 1958, which greatly enhanced the stability and versatility of LEGO constructions.

Basic Set consists of 6 sets that ran from 1954 to 1956. As of today, 700-12 Automatic Binding Bricks is the most valuable Basic Set set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $6,230.
