“For a sleek little flying ship, this looks pretty good. Only a little too chunky at the base. But for a flying fighter, the question is again raised, where are the weapons? The walking mode is not nearly as good. Firstly, the head looks absolutely terrible (even worse in... More real life), and it is not very stable. The perks of this set are: it can be swooshed, and has six printed pieces (head, four side tiles, computer tile). The bad parts are the walking mode, the wings flop a little, and the four wing panels fall off incessantly.”

“This is an okay set of the LEGO Star Wars theme. It's the first and only set which comes with this vehicle. He doesn't have any stickers which makes this set cooler. Actually in the movies the droid fighter is actually called 'vulture droid'. There're no minifigs included in... More this set. The wings can be moved and you can also choose if you want them in walking mode or in flight mode.”

About Star Wars Episode I

Episode I holds the sets from The Phantom Menace. They were part of the very first year of LEGO Star Wars in 1999, which was also the first time LEGO made a theme under licence from a film. The sets reached shops a couple of weeks ahead of the film, so builders had the podracers, the Naboo fighter and the Gungan sub before most had seen them on screen.

Episode I currently consists of 45 sets that as of now has run from 1999 to 2025. As of today, 7662 Trade Federation MTT is the most valuable Episode I set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $1,487.

Build your own droid fighter.. And take to the skies above the Planet Naboo! To defend their battleship, Trade Federation droid fighters engage Naboo fighters in blazing dogfights. The wings on the droid fighter quickly change from cruising position to attack mode. Then with the wings open, and a turn of its head, the droid fighter transforms into a walking droid.
