“The set includes a missile launcher able to shoot LEGO missiles (one is included in the set) which can make the 8007 TECHNIC C-3PO explode if hit in the right place. It also has posable arms, legs, and head, and an orange piece which you can put on and designate the... More Stormtrooper a Squad Leader.”

Brickset
“This is a model of a stormtrooper released in 2001. The gun looks very cool and also very detailed. I could imagine a possible army with these sets. It is very good and better than 3PO. 5 out of 5 for a great job on this set.”

Eurobricks
“This set is very similar in size to most of the other droids and characters. It stands 33cm tall and is reasonably stable despite relatively skinny legs and thanks no doubt to the lack of movement thereof. The left arm has a lot more flexibility due to a ball joint whereas... More the right arm movement is up and down by use of a gear wheel at the back similar to some of these other sets. The 'functionality' consists of raising the firing arm and pointing a technic rubber missile launcher at the target [C3PO - set 8007 - is the intended victim per the instructions).”

About Star Wars Technic

The LEGO Star Wars Technic theme combined the detailed, mechanical building approach of LEGO Technic with iconic characters from the Star Wars universe. Released primarily in the early 2000s, the sets in this theme focused on creating larger, articulated figures, such as droids and notable characters, using Technic pieces. Unlike traditional Star Wars sets that often emphasized vehicles or playset environments, the Technic theme centered on the functionality and poseability of the constructed figures, offering a different building experience for Star Wars and Technic enthusiasts.

Technic consists of 9 sets that ran from 2000 to 2002. As of today, 8007 C-3PO is the most valuable Technic set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $364.
Summary
Star Wars Technic Stormtrooper set 8008 was released in January 2001, retailing for $35, but has since been retired. New, unopened Stormtrooper sets are valued at $73, while used sets can be found for $37.
