LEGO 854-1 Go-Kart is a Technic set released in 1978, containing 206 pieces. The model features rack-and-pinion steering, a single-cylinder reciprocating engine driven by one rear wheel, and dual rear wheels on each side.

Sold in Europe in 1978 under the Technical Set series as 854, it was introduced to the U.S. market in 1979 renumbered as 948 within the Expert Builder line.

If you are a proud owner of this model kit, and if it’s in a condition good enough that it even has the number 9 sticker, you can get the highest... More price for it. I like this model very much. Unfortunately, the rear wheel through which the piston is driven, hacks from time to time. This happens due to bad transmission. Therefore, its overall rating is only 4 stars.”
