LEGO 8544 Nuju is a Bionicle Turaga set released in 2001, containing 29 pieces. The build depicts Turaga Nuju with an ice pick and a lever on his back that raises his arm, and he wears the Noble Matatu, the Mask of Telekinesis. In Bionicle lore, Nuju is the Turaga of Ko-Koro and guardian of Kopaka’s legend. An identical promotional version, 1420 Nuju, was distributed with Kabaya candy in Japan in 2001 and was also issued as a region-specific polybag.

“The turaga in mata nui are smaller than the metru. But they are cool, and have good colors, different of they's toa colors. The hand can't pick-up some things, but are cool to use any staff. The feet are toa mata heads with awesome colors. In the Nuju set, they are white.... More The mask is the same of various matoran.”

“Nuju wears a light gray Noble Matatu. A lever is present on Nuju's back, connected to his right arm, so lowering it causes him to lift his Ice Pick. The arm is automatically lowered due to a rubber band connecting the lever to his neck.”

Turaga BIONICLE is what a Toa warrior becomes when they give away all of their powers. Turaga are wise and venerable and rule Matoran villages. Turaga will also assist Toa on their journeys.
