LEGO 8578 Gahlok-Kal is a Bionicle Bohrok-Kal canister set released in 2003, containing 41 pieces. It builds the Gahlok-Kal with twin shield tools linked to its magnetism power and includes a metallic blue rubber Krana-Kal randomly selected from one of eight types. Some versions were issued as 8578-2 with a mini CD-ROM featuring trailers and information, and a limited number of sets were randomly packed with a sterling silver Krana-Kal Xa (72 produced) or a white metal Krana-Kal Xa (5,000 produced) accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

“Gahlok-Kal can also be curled up into a ball. A piece included will clip onto Gahlok-Kal's lower back, and can be used to hang Gahlok-Kal from the lid of its canister when it is in its ball shape. About Bionicle Bohrok-Kal

The BIONICLE Bohrok-Kal was an elite team of six Bohrok that have increased powers and different Krana than the normal Bohrok. Each of the Bohrok-Kal sets had 40 pieces, and when a lever on the back was pressed, the head would go forward and backwards. When the lever was released, the head would go back.

Bohrok-Kal was introduced in 2003 and currently consists of 6 sets. As of today, 8575 Kohrak-Kal is the most valuable Bohrok-Kal set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $150.

Like water itself, Gahlok-Kal is hard to catch. Its surface is designed to make it difficult to grasp, and it can “flow” around obstacles when need be. Gahlok-Kal is stealthy as well, able to sneak in and out of a Matoran village without ever being seen or heard.

Gahlok-Kal’s tool is a magnetic shield. This collects, controls and directs the power of magnetism from the earth – which can be employed as a defensive force field against attack, or be used as a formidable defensive weapon. The shield is also use for a variety of mundane tasks, such as shattering magnetic rock.
