LEGO 8835 Forklift, also known as TECHNIC Forklift Truck, is a Technic set released in 1989 with 240 pieces. The model builds a forklift truck with working steering and a functional lifting mechanism. The rear wheels are steered by an overhead control that turns an axle through a pair of 14-tooth bevel gears. A side crank raises and lowers the forks, and the entire fork assembly can be tipped forward to help position loads at ground level.

“Set 8835 was released in 1989 as the 3rd Technic forklift. This forklift features rear wheel steering as well as forks which raise, lower, and tilt. Raising and lowering is accomplished via a worm driven chain. This model is similar in appearance and function to 8843... More except that the fork mechanism is gear driven rather than pneumatic.”

“This is a small Forklift from the Lego Technic series. The model is quick to set up and offers a lot of fun. However, the fork occasionally jams. This is also the reason why the rating is only four stars. But otherwise it’s a nice model.”

TECHNIC is one of The LEGO Company's main lines based on creating detailed model machines and mechanical toys with specialized beams, axles, gears and connectors and primarily designed for older children and adults.
