It features a horizontally opposed 2 cylinder engine which drives the prop directly. The rear of the tricycle landing gear has... More suspension, and the ailerons are movable via a control stick using flex system cables. Like 8855, the wing is constructed using a number of ribs in an airfoil shape like a real semi-monocoque airplane.”

“The Sky Ranger from the Lego Technic series is one of only a few aeroplanes in the series. A model with a propeller is built here from relatively few individual parts, and it also has some functions. Due to the few parts one cannot expect more functions. The quite stable... More construction guarantees fun, which already begins with the assembly. Altogether there are five stars in the overall rating. For the maximum rating it is not enough because I was already disappointed that to see the pistons in action the propeller has to be moved by hand.”

About Technic

TECHNIC is one of The LEGO Company's main lines based on creating detailed model machines and mechanical toys with specialized beams, axles, gears and connectors and primarily designed for older children and adults. The theme was first introduced as the Expert Builder series in 1977, but was officially renamed as TECHNIC in 1984. TECHNIC is still an active theme, and is one of the longest running themes in LEGO history.
