LEGO 8961 Crystal Sweeper is a Power Miners set released in 2009, containing 474 pieces and 4 minifigures. The main build is a heavy-duty mining vehicle with an auto-rotating harvester wheel, a rear bucket for storing crystals, a side-mounted laser crane, plus a motorcycle and a ramp. Minifigures include Rex, Brains, a Meltrox rock monster, and a Glaciator rock monster, and the set includes eight crystals in assorted colors. Designed by Mark Stafford, it can be combined with 8959 Claw Digger to create the alternate model Crystal Crawler.

About Power Miners

Power Miners was a LEGO theme released in 2009 and was the successor to Rock Raiders and was generally set in underground caverns. Two generations of the theme were released, in the first generation, Power Miners are deep in the crust of the Earth where they fight the Rock Monsters. In the second generation, Power Miners have drilled into the volcanic recesses of the Earth's core where team faces the Lava Monsters. The theme was discontinued in 2010.
