About LEGO Town Maintenance

The LEGO Town Maintenance theme, active from 1980 to 1998, focused on city upkeep and public services. Key sets include 6383 Public Works Center, which served as a hub for various maintenance activities, 6693 Refuse Collection Truck, essential for waste management, and 6653 Highway Maintenance Truck, used for road repairs and upkeep. These sets highlighted the essential services that keep a town running smoothly, adding a layer of realism to the LEGO Town series.
1982 LEGO Sets
1982 focused on incremental depth: Expert Builder (the forerunner to Technic) pushed functional mechanisms with gears, axles, and linkages, while Space and Town delivered steady waves of bases, vehicles, and civic builds. The 12V Train ecosystem continued to mature with expanded track components and control options.
