About LEGO Town

LEGO Town was one of the LEGO Group's core themes which was based on town life and included sets such as emergency services like police and fire and civilian sets such as cars. LEGO Town incorporates many subthemes, which focus on a specific area of Town such as airport, artic, city, divers, flight, rescue, space and various others.

The Town theme was first introduced in 1978 with the release of the first minifigures and followed the LEGOLAND and Town Plan themes. After the Town theme was officially discontinued in 2004 it was later revived and renamed to World City in 2003 and then in 2005 World City was renamed City.
