Set Value (New/Sealed)

This represents the current new/sealed value of the set Public Works Center since January 1981. Medium accuracy
LEGO 6383-1 Public Works Center is a Town Maintenance set released in 1981, containing 421 pieces and 4 minifigures. The set includes a municipal garage with rolling doors, an overhead crane track, a gravel loader, a dump truck, a front loader, and assorted tools. Its gravel loader uses an angled structure and a slide-out stopper to load and unload gravel pieces, while the garage is designed as a flat-roofed public works building with garage tracks and working doors. The four included minifigures represent a public works crew and wear blue shirts with red helmets, and the set was a limited release sold only in North America and Germany. Based on current trends, this set could be valued near $1,087 within the next year.
Public Works Center (6383-1) is a very old and rare LEGO set. It has not been available online or in retail stores in good/new condition for over 2 years. Because of its scarcity, the current estimated value of in new condition of $1,011.37 may be much lower than its true market value. Released in 1981, sealed sets in good condition are especially difficult to find, often commanding a premium well above estimates.

“One of my personal all-time classic town sets is this set, 6383 Public Works. The set is an excellent gravel yard scene complete with a garage, two very nice construction vehicles, a gravel sifter, construction building, and working crane. One of the fun parts of the set is... More a crane that slides back and forth (from the sifter to the quarry) that has a working claw.”

“This set stands out for its well-designed features, including the unique curved and garage road plates, the detailed garage door tracks, and the traveling crane system. The gravel loader adds complexity with its angled pieces and intricate leg structure, while the garage captures the essence of a municipal building with functional elements like the roll-up doors and window details.”
