About LEGO Town Shops and Services
Shops and Services holds the shops, garages and petrol stations of LEGO Town from 1980 to 2003. 6390 Main Street opened the line in 1980, a row of shops with 8 minifigures, and garages, car repair shops and service stations made up much of the rest, often with Shell logos in Europe and Exxon in North America until LEGO's own Octan brand replaced them. Food arrived with 6683 Hamburger Stand in 1983, 6376 Breezeway Cafe in 1990 and 6350 Pizza To Go in 1994.
2002 LEGO Sets
2002 was a mixed year of success and experimentation. Star Wars dominated with Episode II: Attack of the Clones sets and collector favorites like the Imperial Star Destroyer (10030), while the Western theme’s Fort LEGOredo (6762) gained long-term appeal. New themes included Spider-Man, Island Xtreme Stunts, and expanded Racers sets, but LEGO also faced missteps with Galidor and Spybotics—both short-lived departures from traditional building. Core themes such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Alpha Team remained strong, making 2002 a year of both breakthroughs and lessons learned.
