Fantasy Era is the name fans gave to the Castle line of 2007 to 2009, when Castle came back with monsters. In 2007 the Crown Knights fought an army of skeletons led by an evil wizard, in sets such as 7094 King's Castle Siege and 7029 Skeleton Ship Attack. In 2008 the dwarves arrived, defending their mines against the trolls and their army, who came with war wagons, a battle wheel and a troll warship. The trolls were large new figures, and the line also brought new skeleton parts and helmets.
2009 LEGO Sets
2009 celebrated the 10th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars and the 50th anniversary of the LEGO brick. New themes included Space Police III, Power Miners, and a revival of Pirates, while Agents 2.0 continued the high-tech spy concept. LEGO Mindstorms NXT 2.0 refined its robotics platform with enhanced sensors and programmability. The year also saw the conclusion of the original Batman line, Exo-Force, Mars Mission, and Belville, as LEGO phased out older themes in favor of new directions.
