This is a re-issued version. Part of the LEGO Castle theme, specifically within the Forestmen subtheme, was first introduced in the set 6071 Forestmen's Crossing. The Forestmen theme, active from 1987 through 1990, included various sets that portrayed a group of Robin Hood-like characters.
