“The LEGO Starter Train Set 111, originally released in 1966, offers a nostalgic glimpse into the early days of LEGO trains. Featuring blue tracks, a simple blue engine, and vintage bricks, this set may be basic by today’s standards, but it laid the foundation for the more advanced train sets we enjoy now.”
 

About Trains 4.5V

The LEGO 4.5V train theme ran from 1966 until 1971 and contained 39 sets in all. The 4.5V trains used to be the voltage standard for the first electric LEGO components where the power came from a battery box with 3x 1.5V batteries.
