LEGO 1217-2 2x4 Bricks is a System i Leg Supplemental set released in 1955, containing 13 pieces. This early regional release was sold only in Norway and Sweden and was issued in four color variants: blue, red, white, and yellow. During its production run, the brick type changed from slotted hollow bricks used from 1955 to 1956 to hollow bricks without slots used from 1956 to 1958, including the early 2 x 4 design with underside tubing introduced in 1956. The set is the same basic release as set 218 2 x 4 Bricks, which appeared in 1958.

About System i Leg Supplemental

Starting in the 1950s LEGO began individual parts sales, a practice that began with the Ferguson Tracktor in 1951. LEGO would supply dealers with wooden parts boxes and refill packs. These individual part sales would continue, at least in some markets, into the late 1950’s.

Supplemental consists of 68 sets that ran from 1955 to 1959. As of today, 214-4 Windows and Doors Retailer Pack is the most valuable Supplemental set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $805.
