The New York City Architecture Skyline designed by Adam Reed Tucker set includes five iconic structures in New York City; the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Flatiron Building, and One World Trade Center “Freedom Tower”. The buildings are arranged on a narrow base four studs deep. At just under 600 pieces and MSRP $59.99, this is a mid-size set for the LEGO Architecture range with various complex building techniques especially for the Freedom Tower model. There are some great parts in the set but the lack of variety is compensated by quantity of some parts.

A new and sealed New York City is currently valued at around $55. The average used price is $45 for those in good overall condition. New and sealed listings currently range from $50 to $70. I had read many reviews saying it was poor value for money and was a disappointing scale, so I wasn't expecting great things when I ordered it, but I was completely amazed when it arrived. “This is a nice set with nice element use (the tooth plates, the sand blue, the grill tiles) which nicely captures the spirit of the greatest city in the world. (As the founder of NYCLUG, I admit I'm a little biased.) I imagine that a second NYC set is coming soon that will... More include landmarks we haven't seen yet, such as Grand Central Terminal, the old Penn Station, and the Woolworth Building. But for now, this grouping of the Big Apple's best will do!”

“Of the three cityscapes I think this one is probably my favourite, for several reasons. It provides a greater variety of techniques used for constructing the buildings, some of which are very simple, while others are quite complex. Also, the height of the buildings help make... More this a far more impressive model, especially at first glance. I don't suppose there are many landmarks in the world that are better known than those represented here (except perhaps some London and Paris ones) so its appeal will be universal, which might not be the case for the other two. If you fancy dipping your toes into the Architecture line this would be an excellent set to start with. It's a fun build and makes a fantastic display piece. If you live in NYC buying it will be a no-brainer!”

The LEGO Architecture Skylines series highlights a number of famous structures within a city skyline and explores several landmarks from a single city, rather than focusing on just one building such as the Landmark Series. The series was introduced in 2016 and now contains more than a dozen sets representing cities such as New York City, Venice, Sydney, Chicago, London, Paris and many more.
