With a release date slatted for January 31, 2018, this version of the LEGO Architecture Skylines Las Vegas (21038-1) was never officially released and recalled by LEGO prior to any wide spread release. Actually in the history of LEGO only 2 sets were actually cancelled prior to release and this happened to be one of them, the other was 21000 Sears Tower. There are reports by brickarchitect.com that of a couple dozen of these sets made it to circulation and were sold at the two Lilliputs retail stores in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The original 21038 LEGO Architecture Skylines Las Vegas set included the Mandalay Bay Hotel hotel in the skyline. The set was redesigned in response to a mass shooting event in October of the previous year at the Mandalay Bay Hotel, replacing it with a different building, the Bellagio Hotel in set 21047.

Due to the extremely limited release speculation this would be one of the rarest LEGO sets available. In fact, we have never seen set 21038 before other than in a few circulating pictures online.

A new and sealed Las Vegas is currently valued at around $3,709, with annual growth of about 35.4% that is expected to level off to around 12.7% in the coming year. The average used price is $3,078 for those in good overall condition. Based on current trends, this set could be valued near $4,093 within the next year.
Las Vegas is a rare LEGO set. We have not seen set 21038-1 available in good/new condition online or in retail stores for over 2 years. Given how hard it is to find, the estimated value in new condition of $3,708.96 may not reflect its true collectible worth.

The LEGO Architecture Skylines series highlights a number of famous structures within a city skyline and explores several landmarks from a single city, rather than focusing on just one building such as the Landmark Series. The series was introduced in 2016 and now contains more than a dozen sets representing cities such as New York City, Venice, Sydney, Chicago, London, Paris and many more.
