LEGO 221-2 1x2 Bricks is a System i Leg Supplemental set released in 1958, containing 45 pieces. The set consists of basic 1 x 2 bricks and was issued in several color variants, including red, white, yellow, blue, trans-clear, and black. It is the European counterpart to set 221-3, the Samsonite version sold in the United States, and regional versions differed in piece count, with 45 parts in the USA, 40 in Canada, and 26 in Europe, the UK, and Australia. The bricks in this set are early hollow-bottom 1 x 2 elements without bottom tubes.

About System i Leg Supplemental

Starting in the 1950s LEGO began individual parts sales, a practice that began with the Ferguson Tracktor in 1951. LEGO would supply dealers with wooden parts boxes and refill packs. These individual part sales would continue, at least in some markets, into the late 1950’s.

Supplemental consists of 68 sets that ran from 1955 to 1959. As of today, 214-4 Windows and Doors Retailer Pack is the most valuable Supplemental set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $805.
