LEGO 227-1 4x8 Curved & 2x8 Plates is a System i Leg Supplemental set released in 1958, containing 5 pieces. The set is a small parts pack of white plates, with one 2x8 plate and four curved 4x8 plates split between left and right versions. Early examples are known with waffle-bottom undersides, and alternate versions of the same elements without waffle bottoms also exist. This set was similar in concept to set 1228-2 4 x 8 Curved & 2 x 8 Plates. Based on current trends, this set could be valued near $1 within the next year.
4x8 Curved & 2x8 Plates is an exceptionally rare set. Set 227-1 has not been seen for sale online or in retail stores in new or well-preserved condition for many years. About System i Leg Supplemental

Starting in the 1950s LEGO began individual parts sales, a practice that began with the Ferguson Tracktor in 1951. LEGO would supply dealers with wooden parts boxes and refill packs. These individual part sales would continue, at least in some markets, into the late 1950’s.

Supplemental consists of 68 sets that ran from 1955 to 1959. As of today, 230-2 Six Trees and Bushes is the most valuable Supplemental set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $320.
