The build recreates the enchanted textbook from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, known in-universe as The Monster Book of Monsters by Edwardus Lima, used in Care of Magical Creatures classes taught by Rubeus Hagrid. It was first distributed at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Shanghai between October 15 and November 15, 2020 as a free gift with qualifying purchases and later appeared at other LEGOLAND Discovery Centers. LEGO also offered it in January 2021 as a gift-with-purchase for Harry Potter orders on LEGO.com and at LEGO Stores.
