
Scala is a theme that started in the late 1970s then again the late 1990 that primarily targeted at younger girls. The earlier Scala sets where a series of jewelry and beauty accessories built out of LEGO bricks, usually plates. However, in the second wave the Scala theme shifted focus to doll-like Scala Figures, their homes and interests and contained sets that included doll house like features and Scala Figure accessories such as doll clothing.

Scala Summer Day Out set 3121 was released in September 2001, retailing for $8, but has since been retired. New, unopened Summer Day Out sets are valued at $49, while used sets can be found for $25 in good condition.
