“Santa is one stud wide and stands upright by way of the two black 3x2 plates that represent feet. The rest of his body is mainly red, with a black belt running through the center and three close-set black buttons running in a vertical pattern down the middle.”

About Seasonal Christmas

Christmas is the Seasonal subtheme for LEGO's holiday sets, and new ones come out every autumn. The earliest are small Santa builds from 1999. Many of the smaller sets are given free with purchases in November and December rather than sold, which is how 40410 Charles Dickens Tribute, a scene from A Christmas Carol, reached most people in 2020.

Christmas was introduced in 1999 and currently consists of 120 sets. As of today, 40489 Mr. and Mrs. Claus' Living Room is the most valuable Christmas set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $279.
Summary
Seasonal Christmas Santa Claus set 40001 was released on October 18, 2009, retailing for $5, it has since been retired. New, unopened sets are valued at $9, while used sets sell around $7.
