The Brick Fan
“Overall, the Halloween Owl (40497) is a fun little set that goes well with the other LEGO Seasonal sets for 2021. The owl does look good and there is some bulk to it. Like with the previous sets, it comes with a buildable base which has an Easter egg inside. For the owl,... More there’s a little bat built in.”

The Brothers Brick
“Overall, these were a treat to build, and I really appreciated the trick the designers pulled by including a hidden build inside of the pumpkin patch. It was easy enough for any builder and definitely something I want to see in my home throughout the fall season.”

About Seasonal Halloween

Halloween is the Seasonal subtheme for LEGO's autumn sets of pumpkins, bats, ghosts and witches, and new ones arrive most years ahead of the holiday. The first sets of 2010 were small brick-built models with no minifigures at all, a jack-o'-lantern, a ghost and a bat, and the pumpkin has been rebuilt several times since.

Halloween was introduced in 2010 and currently consists of 22 sets.
Summary
Seasonal Halloween Halloween Owl set 40497 was released in August 2021, retailing for $15, but has since been retired. New, unopened Halloween Owl sets are valued at $25, while used sets can be found for $11 in good condition.
