“The design is quite good, despite the use of very basic bricks – the 1×1 round bricks stacked on each other for the windows, give it a sense of texture, and the arches look great too. This was a really fun experience, reacquainting myself with 6054 Forestmen’s Hideout. Like... More most sets in this era play features are abundant, and sets often have a sense of dynamism to them. In this case, the black tree trunk opens up to reveal a hollow interior.”

“The re-released 6054 Forestmen's Hideout from 1988 will be improved for the 2022 version and contain newer elements like the long horn piece in black to form the tree branches, blue roof is made of four 1x8 tiles, lbg masonry bricks are used for the wall, 2 new printed... More shields with deer motive, a grey spear hanging, a 2x2 round tile with target print, a small, red, unprinted mushroom, a small pine tree, some flowers and red flag are also included as well.”

About Castle Forestmen

The Forestmen were introduced in 1987 and represented a faction in the Castle theme. Forestmen consisted of 7 sets including various hideouts and fortifications as well as simple carts and was discontinued in 1990. In the LEGO Catalogs, the following description was used; The Forestmen are a merry band of skilled archers. They enjoy good food and good times.

Forestmen currently consists of 8 sets that as of now has run from 1987 to 2022. As of today, 6071 Forestmen's Crossing is the most valuable Forestmen set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $2,767.
