Jays Brick Blog
“This is a great looking set, and one that Mario Kart fans will enjoy. No one likes seeing a Blue Shell take flight and speed across the circuit to take out whomever is in first place, but it does feel good when you launch one and win a race because of it.”

“40787 Spiny Shell appears to replicate the Mario Kart item surprisingly well, complete with multiple spikes on the upper blue portion of the power-up, a curved white rim around the middle and a tan and black underside.”

BrickEconomy Expert Review
“LEGO Mario Kart’s Spiny Shell set offers a solid selection of parts, including hard-to-find blue curved slopes and white tubes, making it a valuable addition for builders. Designed as a companion to the upcoming Standard Kart display set, it’s available to LEGO Insiders for 2,500 points.”
