“This affordable and unique LEGO Racers set stands out with its simple build and fun playability. Featuring six pieces, including two useful printed ones and a minifigure, the set allows for exciting races where the car is launched and the driver flies out upon impact. The elastic-powered launcher adds an extra layer of fun, making it great for competitions with other sets in the subtheme. Though it lacks complex features, its ease of play and innovative design make it a cool choice for fans of the Xalax theme.”

About Racers Xalax

LEGO Xalax, also know as Crash 'em Racers was a Racers subtheme which was introduced in 2001 and discontinued the same year. These sets used special Xalax Figures which were not minifigure scale. The Xalax Figures were customized figures that were slightly taller then an average LEGO bricks, but still shorter than 4 plates high. Most Xalax sets included eight pieces since they were just different modifications of the same car.

Xalax was introduced in 2001 and currently consists of 16 sets. As of today, 4578 Ghost is the most valuable Xalax set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $301.
Summary
Racers Xalax Rip set 4574 was released in July 2001, retailing for $3, but has since been retired. New, unopened Rip sets are valued at $53, while used sets can be found for $9 in good condition.

The year is 2210 AD. We're in the city of Knossox on the plane of Xalax, where everyone is wild about Racers - a zany motor rac that's run every day in a giant arena they call the Big Dome. Fearless drivers push their super-design cars to the limit and beyond! You and your friends can enjoy the wildest races once you get your hands on these tough little racers. So far there are 8 different LEGO® Racers to choose between - each crazier than the one before. The idea is to crash into each other and send opposing drivers flying -or to make the quickest getaway or be the first across the finishing line -or the snappiest at stunts!
