Insights

Released as a US-numbered LEGOLAND item, Fire Truck (485) is a pre-minifigure-era emergency vehicle with a detachable pump car that draws interest from vintage Town and variant-focused collectors, and its limited regional run and retirement have left sealed examples scarce while condition drives volatility.

Set Facts

This set is the same as set 693 Fire Engine which was released in Europe, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada.
The set includes three original armless, legless, and faceless LEGO figures, often referred to as "pre-minifigures."
It features a three-section ladder and a pump cart, representing 1970s fire engine technology commonly used in Europe. The pump cart, detached from the fire truck, was designed to pump water.

About LEGOLAND

The LEGO LEGOLAND theme, introduced in the 1970s and continuing into the 1980s, comprised sets that replicated everyday scenes, vehicles, and buildings in a more simplistic style than later themes. These sets, pre-dating the minifigure era, were designed to represent various aspects of life, from towns to vehicles to castles. The LEGOLAND theme was foundational in the evolution of LEGO, bridging the gap between basic brick building and the more themed, narrative-driven sets that would become standard in subsequent years.
