Doc Ock's Hideout Reviews
Eurobricks
“A good set that could've been better with a few minor changes. Nothing wrong with it, but it doesn't really cross the line to greatness. That said, it has a lot going for it and definitely worth buying or at least a look!”
Brickset
“The set overall has a very appealing color scheme of light grey, dark grey and brown, though the accents of yellow and blue do detract from the set. The set is built on a blue 10" x 10" baseplate. And then there are the problems. The miniboat is small and really lackluster.... More The Spider man launching device is also lackluster.”

About Spider-Man

The LEGO Spider-Man / Spider-Man 2 theme from 2004 was a subtheme based on Spider-Man 2, the film starring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. Released under the broader LEGO Spider-Man theme, these sets recreated key scenes from the movie, featuring Spider-Man, Doctor Octopus, and other characters in action-packed builds. Notable sets included 4855 Spider-Man’s Train Rescue, which depicted the iconic battle between Spider-Man and Doc Ock on an elevated train, and 4853 Spider-Man’s Street Chase, capturing a high-speed pursuit. These sets featured minifigures of Spider-Man, Doc Ock, and supporting characters, along with vehicles and city-based builds inspired by the film’s setting. The subtheme was part of LEGO’s early Marvel-related sets before the LEGO Super Heroes theme launched in 2012.
