Brickset
“Overall, the value within this set is stunning. There are 4 minifigures (3 of which are exclusive, and 2 of which are quite desirable), plus two builds with a good parts selection. The minifigs included are undoubtedly the highlight of this set. Spider-Man, in his... More Spider-Man 2 movie costume, looks wonderful with plenty of silver lines on his suit. The figure comes with great back printing for the head and torso, which is quite surprising in minifigures dating back from the mid 2000s.”

“The Doc Ock Fusion Lab set captures the essence of Spider-Man 2 with its hinged fusion lab build and an accurate ambulance inclusion. While the dated design highlights LEGO's early 2000s building style, it offers interesting play features like the reactor malfunction mechanism and exclusive minifigures of Doc Ock, Spider-Man, and Harry Osborn.”

About Spider-Man

The LEGO Spider-Man / Spider-Man 2 theme from 2004 was a subtheme based on Spider-Man 2, the film starring Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker. Released under the broader LEGO Spider-Man theme, these sets recreated key scenes from the movie, featuring Spider-Man, Doctor Octopus, and other characters in action-packed builds. Notable sets included 4855 Spider-Man’s Train Rescue, which depicted the iconic battle between Spider-Man and Doc Ock on an elevated train, and 4853 Spider-Man’s Street Chase, capturing a high-speed pursuit. These sets featured minifigures of Spider-Man, Doc Ock, and supporting characters, along with vehicles and city-based builds inspired by the film’s setting. The subtheme was part of LEGO’s early Marvel-related sets before the LEGO Super Heroes theme launched in 2012.
