Insights

A time-limited promotional release tied to the Star Wars anniversary, Star Wars Anniversary Pod (2018) has benefited from constrained supply, and its non-unique minifigure mix has limited upside; historical small promo performance suggests steady collector interest with modest post-retirement gains.

Brickset

“I have enjoyed collecting these pods over the last few months and 5005276 Star Wars Anniversary Pod is probably my favourite one yet. The lenticular design looks good and I like the sliver of the Tantive IV's famous hallway inside. However, it is the chromed exterior that... More really distinguishes this pod from others so hopefully LEGO will continue to find ways of differentiating these little sets.”

The Brothers Brick

“The highly anticipated Darth Vader Pod has finally been released. LEGO fans were quite disappointed after it was initially canceled last year for the Christmas period due to manufacturing issues. Since then, we’ve known that the pod’s unique feature is its... More metallic/chrome-based finish, which drove up the hype when LEGO announced that it was back again for this month’s promotional giveaway.”
