The composition of 5009806 Retro Space Explorer is fairly appealing and the logo is certainly the highlight, as it should be. However, strange decisions have been... More made with the spacecraft and base. The base in particular desperately needs some texture.”

“The Retro Space Explorer offers a clean three-dimensional take on the Classic Space logo, with the layered planetoid and red orbit translated effectively into brick form. The display composition works well, though the base feels plain and the spacecraft’s color choices stray from traditional Classic Space styling. A new astronaut color would have strengthened the set, but the overall presentation still highlights the logo in a clear and appealing way.”
