Insights

A Promotional Insiders reward from 2025, Retro Space Explorer is a tribute-style Classic Space release tied to a short redemption window, and its blue Spacebaby minifigure and nostalgic styling support steady collector interest while limited size and remake risk temper long-term upside.

Set Facts

The set is available to Insiders members beginning on November 22, 2025, for 2,400 points.
It includes a blue Spacebaby microfigure previously introduced in Collectible Minifigures and later sets.
The spacecraft design uses white elements instead of the traditional light bluish grey, diverging from typical Classic Space color conventions.
The display logo incorporates a yellow planetoid and red orbit, with trans-clear plate gaps that match the original emblem’s artwork.

Brickset

“I like the idea of the famous Classic Space logo becoming a three-dimensional model, but its execution is mixed. The composition of 5009806 Retro Space Explorer is fairly appealing and the logo is certainly the highlight, as it should be. However, strange decisions have been... More made with the spacecraft and base. The base in particular desperately needs some texture.”

BrickEconomy Expert Review

“The Retro Space Explorer offers a clean three-dimensional take on the Classic Space logo, with the layered planetoid and red orbit translated effectively into brick form. The display composition works well, though the base feels plain and the spacecraft’s color choices stray from traditional Classic Space styling. A new astronaut color would have strengthened the set, but the overall presentation still highlights the logo in a clear and appealing way.”
