Also known as Traditional Kite, the set is a miniature build based on the Malaysian wau, a traditional moon-kite associated with the state of Kelantan and recognized as a national symbol of Malaysia. It was distributed as part of LEGO Malaysia's Cities of Wonders event at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, with this model released during week 3 from June 11 to June 17. The set was available in limited quantities through a qualifying purchase of RM300 in LEGO products at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and selected LEGO Certified Stores in Malaysia.

“This is an art piece I would say. You can literally 'draw' a painting on this kite. The pattern of the Wau was nicely painted by bricks and plates. The building technique has a nice finishing border and seamless. This is a very colorful set and I personally liked the pearl... More gold pieces. There is a special part here as you can see labeled as inverted curves, quite rarely found in normal LEGO sets.”

About Cities of Wonders

In 2017 LEGO released a seventeen set limited edition series in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and other Asian cities called the Cities of Wonder centered around multiple events all promoting the theme of imagination and creativity. Once a week, the first 150 fans at an event location could receive one of these sets for a minimum purchase worth of LEGO products via an exclusive Make and Take activity. After, the Mini Builds will then be available at stores until it is sold-out.

Cities of Wonders was introduced in 2017 and currently consists of 18 sets. As of today, Cities of Wonders Singapore Nyonya Kueh is the most valuable Cities of Wonders set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $275.
