75478 LEGO Star Wars Rebel Y-Wing Starfighter

LEGO 75478 Rebel Y-Wing Starfighter is a rumored Star Wars set due in January 2027, with an expected retail price of $79.99. It is one of 17 rumored Star Wars sets for 2027.

Forecast Model

This represents the expected annual growth (CAGR) based solely on a forecast model.
Rebel Y-Wing Starfighter is a rumored medium-sized Alliance bomber with Jon "Dutch" Vander in the cockpit and Mon Mothma included to anchor the Rebel leadership angle. R2-BHD is expected to appear as a silver-colored astromech, and the 50th anniversary bonus is Concept Art Luke Skywalker in an early Ralph McQuarrie Starkiller-style design. The build should echo 75172 with dual stud-shooters and a gearwheel proton bomb-drop, plus plenty of exposed greebling along the engine pylons.
Details are based on early reports and may change before LEGO's official announcement.
Collector and Investor Insights
Original Trilogy starfighters in the regular Star Wars line have usually produced steady post-retirement gains, and Y-wing variants tied to named film characters tend to hold attention better than generic Rebel repeats. Dutch Vander, Mon Mothma, a silver astromech, and a McQuarrie-derived anniversary figure give this version broader collector appeal than a routine vehicle refresh.

About Star Wars Episode IV

Episode IV covers A New Hope, the first Star Wars film from 1977, and it goes back to the first LEGO Star Wars sets of 1999, among them Luke's X-wing and landspeeder. Luke, Han and Leia had the classic yellow LEGO faces until 2004, when LEGO switched the figures of its licensed themes to flesh tones to look more like the actors.

Episode IV was introduced in 1999 and currently consists of 53 sets. As of today, NY Comic-Con 2012 Luke Skywalker's Landspeeder is the most valuable Episode IV set with an estimated new/factory sealed value of $1,009.
