LEGO Star Wars / Ultimate Collector Series Sets

The Ultimate Collector Series, or UCS, holds the large display versions of Star Wars ships, vehicles and places. It began in 2000 with 7181 TIE Interceptor and 7191 X-wing Fighter. The designer of that first X-wing gave it a black stand and a printed information plaque to show it was a model to display rather than a toy, and the stand and plaque have been part of the series ever since.

The name itself came and went. It was printed on the first boxes, then left off for years, and only came back in 2007 with 10179 Ultimate Collector's Millennium Falcon, which was the largest LEGO set made up to then. A UCS badge on the box followed in 2014.

Most are built at display scale, but a few, such as the Death Star and the Ewok Village, are playsets at minifigure scale that carry the label anyway. Since the late 2010s the series has also moved past the original films, to the prequels and to The Mandalorian.
